Crystal vs AB Stones vs Color Effects vs Unfoiled
Rhinestones come in either clear or colored. The name of the stone reflects the color. AB stands for Aurora Borealis which means that a special coating is added to give the stone more shine changing its appearance up close. We recommend using AB color stones when doing a tone on tone application. For example: using a Sapphire AB stone on a sapphire fabric. This will help the fabric to shine without the stones looking like polkadots. We also recommend using the the crystal color when putting the stone on a different color to create color designs. For example: using peridot and emerald stones to create a flower on a brown fabric. These are general rules of thumb to follow when deciding how to finish a costume. A color effects stone in one in which the colors are mixed. Depending on the view angle the stone will appear to be two or three different colors. An unfoiled stone (currently available with an AB finish only) is one that has not had the silver foil backing applied. This allows the color of the fabric to be reflected through the stone. Swatches
Due to the differences in color between monitors and scanners we do not post pictures of fabric on our site. We have developed a swatching system of categorized swatch pages. . If you would like an entire catalog of swatch pages (over 1000 fabrics), this can be ordered for a cost of $75.00 plus shipping (approximately 3-4 weeks processing). If your request is less than six single swatches of fabric we will mail those to you free of charge through the US mail. For more than six swatches the cost will be 0.10 per swatch plus $5.00 shipping and handling fee. Please call for an approximation of delivery time.

We offer a large selection of sequins. Due to the differences in color between monitors and scanners we do not guarantee the sequins will match the color on your monitor. We have a sequin chart available for $2.00 plus shipping (UPS). The chart consists of real sequins in each of the colors. We highly recommed ordering the sequin chart so that there are no surprises when your sequins arrive.
